Rooma 2013

Niin se aika kuluu. Nyt mennään jo lokakuussa. Mä oon kirjotellut vaan ihan hulluna aineita ja esseitä, suoriutunut ensimmäisestä koeviikosta ja... käynyt Roomassa, vihdoin! Mä kulttuuri-ihmisenä olin odottanu Roomaa ala-asteelta asti ja nyt viimein pääsin vierailemaan sinne unelmakaupunkiin.

Wonder how time runs. It's October already. I've been writing a lot and also had the first exam week and... went to Rome, finally! I, as a culture person, have dreamed about Rome since primary school and now I got an opportunity to make my dream come true.

Rooma eroaa Milanosta (jossa olin viimevuonna) tosi paljon. Tosin Milanon matka meni enemmän shoppailemiseen kuin kulttuuriin, joten en ehkä oo paras vertailija. Loppupeleissä kummatkin kaupungit on upeita.

Rome has a big different to Milan (traveled there last year). Though in Milan we mostly shopped when now we saw sight so I'm not sure if I'm the best person to compare. In the end they're both absolutely marvelous cities.

On Monday morning we left to Rome with my mom and sis. Right on the first day we happened to find the Colosseum and of course visited. Also saw some other sights on that day. Colosseum was everything I had thought and much more! It's amazing thinking there have been peoples about 2500 years ago and how many people there have been during the time before me! Something so incomprehensible

Toisen päivän kohokohdat olivat Pantheon sekä Fontana di Trevi. Pantheon on oikea arkkitehtuurin helmi siinä missä Colosseumkin. Pyöreän rakennuksen katossa on n. 4m halkaisijaltaan oleva reikä.

Juteltiin pari tuntia kierrellen samalla Rooman katuja.
Illalla lähdettiin kävelemään takaisin päin. Meidän kartanlukija erehtyi suunnasta pahemman kerran ja päädyttiin sitten Vatikaanille Vittorio Emmanuelen sijaan :D

The highlights of the second day were the Pantheon and Fontana di Trevi. The Pantheon is one of the finest pieces of architecture as well as Colosseum. The roof of a round building has about 4 meter diameter hole. Fontana di Trevi had lots and lots of admirers and with a reason. The sculpture is really beautiful and detailed. We throw coins to the fountain and I just hoped to one day return to Rome.

After a while I met my friend, Marta whom I met in England last summer. We talked for couple of hours while walking along the streets of  Rome.
In the evening we walked back to our hotel, or that's what we thought. We were supposed to walk to Vittorio Emmanuele's monument when we realized we had reached the Vatican. No big deal, just had my feet completely ruined :D

Keskiviikkona tehtiin oikea vierailu Vatikaaniin.

On Wednesday we made a real trip to Vatican. Were just walking there when someone had passed us, the pope! There was extremely hot on Wednesday and there were to many peoples in Vatican. Didn't have enough patience to wait and queue there for 4 hours to Sistine Chapel. St. Peter's Square was quite enough then :)
Then just shopped for the rest of the day.

On Thursday, on the last day we took a little lazier day and visited just Vittorio Emmanuele's monumet. There was such a beautiful sight from the roof of the monument (building) though I'm afraid of heights. In the afternoon we took a train to airport. At the airport we queued and queued far too long. The flight was OK until I got sick :D

Loppuloman olen ottanut levon kannalta. Perjantain vietin sängyssä katsellen Gossip Girl:ä koko päivän. Lauantaina sain jo jotain aikaseksi ja eilen tein jo kiitettävästi hommia. Kävin aamulla yhden Häly-tiimin kanssa Kirkkonummella tekemässä juttua falabelloista.

The rest of my holiday I just rested. On Friday I lay the whole day in my bed watching Gossip Girl. On Saturday I got somethings done and yesterday I got actually a lot done :D I went to Kirkkonummi with a Häly-group to make  a interview about falabella horses.
